Project Description
STEM for Hope Ecuador is an educational and social innovation initiative led by the Fundación para la Reingeniería del Aprendizaje (FRIDA), a nonprofit organization with more than 15 years of experience promoting equitable and future-oriented learning systems in Ecuador.
This project seeks to bring practical STEM camps—focused on robotics, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, telecommunications, and hands-on experiments—directly to vulnerable communities across Ecuador. By doing so, we reduce the digital divide, foster curiosity, and empower children and youth who have limited access to quality education in science and technology.
Our mission is to create meaningful learning experiences that inspire young people to dream, design, and innovate. Through intensive STEM camps, participants will engage in collaborative projects, problem-solving activities, and real-life applications of technology, building critical skills for the future of work.
Why this project matters:
Many communities in Ecuador face educational inequities, particularly in rural and low-income areas. Access to technology and high-quality science education remains limited.
By introducing students to robotics, AI, and digital skills, we prepare them for future opportunities in the global economy.
Beyond technical knowledge, the camps cultivate creativity, teamwork, leadership, and resilience.
Impact and Outcomes:
Each camp reaches 50–100 children and youth, offering an immersive week of STEM learning.
Over one year, our goal is to bring STEM for Hope to at least 10 communities, directly impacting more than 1,000 young learners.
Indirectly, families, schools, and local communities benefit from increased awareness of the value of STEM education.
Participants will leave with improved problem-solving skills, exposure to emerging technologies, and strengthened confidence to pursue higher education or career paths in STEM fields.
Use of Funds:
Your contribution will directly support:
Equipment and educational kits (robotics sets, IoT devices, laptops, etc.).
Training of facilitators and volunteers.
Travel and logistics to reach remote communities.
Development of interactive educational content.
Scholarships to ensure participation of the most vulnerable children and youth.
